Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato star in this story of a princess who must learn to live a normal life in order to save her country.

Carter Mason (Gomez) is a simple girl living a simple life. It just happens that her father works for the Princess Protection Program, an organization that saves princesses around the world when they are in trouble. Even with this job, the father and daughter have a simple life. That is until his latest job puts Carter right in the middle of the action.

Princess Rosalinda (Lovato) is about to be crowned the head of her country. While rehearsing for the ceremony, an evil general decides he wants to take over the country. His forces invade the rehearsal but Mason, Carter’s father, is there to whisk the young princess off and to safety, leaving her mother who is subsequently jailed.

From Being Royal to Being Normal

Rosalinda comes to live with Carter and her father until the uproar settles down in her country and she can return in safety. Rosalinda takes on the common name Rosie, in order to blend in with Carter and her friends. However as hard as she tries to be a regular girl in school, she is a princess and isn’t used to doing the everyday tasks. She isn’t a snob, exactly. It’s just that she has no idea how to live a life that is not royal.

Carter has a problem with Rosie. She cannot wait until the Princess is gone. When she finally understands what Rosie is going through and how she wants to return to her country to save her mother, Carter comes to her defense.

From Being Normal to Being Royal

The two girls start planning for the homecoming dance, and Rosie is excited to know that there are princess involved in homecoming, although they are not exactly the same kind that she is used to. But a princess is a princess, and as such has a lot expected of her. She must carry herself with dignity.

So, as Carter is teaching Rosie how to be a normal girl, Rosie is teaching Carter how to conduct herself as a princess.

Princess Protection Program is a cute film for teens who have always wanted to be a princess. And that just about includes every teenage girl in the world.
